The gloves are suitable for all styles of training including sparring and bag workouts. As with all designs by Cleto Reyes, these are made from quality materials. The latex foam padding is long lasting keeping your knuckles protected. An attached thumb prevents sprains and injuries. The premium goat leather is high quality and durable. The quality and attention to detail of the construction is almost flawless. The design provides an arched hand and fits the natural curvature of the fist whilst striking. The Cleto Reyes Hybrid Gloves are minimalist in nature, as is the case with most gloves from the region. The weight is 3lbs, and has dimensions of 15″ x 8″ x 6″. They are fairly thin and compact and not too firm. Care should be taken when used in sparring as they are different in nature to Australian brands. The plus side with sparring with these gloves is that due to their smaller sizing they can slip through gaps well. The hand space can also be on the smaller side, which may feel like a perfect snug fit or simply be too small depending on your size and preferences. The padding surrounding the wrist is soft increasing comfort and uses the support from the velcro strap. Take note that if you’ve only previously used velcro strap gloves, laces can require assistance. If you choose to not do up the laces, the gloves can open up when your bend your hand, and your wrists will be less supported. Unlike other gloves which use oz. for sizing, these use sizing of small, medium and large. The small is comparable to 14oz, medium to 16oz and large to 18oz. In Australia we have a choice of black gloves with red trim.
